The Ultimate Guide to Making Money Online With Ecommerce

John Rattigan asked:

When choosing to make money online, there are many different strategies that you can use – I’ve successfully used five different strategies. However, which one you choose depends on your own personal strengths and resources.

I promised I would share with you my own successes and failures in pursuing each of the five strategies. Of course it’s important to understand how success is achieved, but most of the gurus in time have confirmed that they learnt more from making mistakes. It was in correcting the mistakes that they found success, so it follows that getting out there and taking action, any action, may not lead to immediate success but will almost certainly lead to a mistake or learning experience that will propel you forward to success if you persevere.

In this article I’ll share with you one of the best ways to make money online fast that I have found.

Before I get going with this article, I just want you to be aware that these are just my personal experiences based on what has worked for me. Thankfully there is usually more than one pathway that leads to success – you just need to find the best way to make money online for you.

Strategy 3 – eCommerce

In a nutshell, this is where you trade goods or services via an online store. You can either use your own website or blog, or that of providers like eBay who provide a platform and a marketplace of buyers for you.

I have never tried the eBay route other than selling a car, which worked very well I have to say. What I have had mixed experiences doing is producing information products to sell on the internet. My first product was, and still is, an amazing success, that demonstrated to me what a powerful way this can be to leverage the power of the internet to make money online fast.

To date this one product alone has generated $19, 405.11. It was an eBook, which gave the theory of how to confidently to talk to motivated vendors when looking to buy their property. But it’s USP (Unique Selling Point) was that it also had an accompanying audio file that provided an hour of real examples I had recorded, presented in the form of a radio show.

The guide evolved as a result of identifying a need – a problem – that existed in the online Real Estate forum that I was an active member of. If you can find a common problem and come up with a cost effective solution for people then you are onto a winner. The beauty is that once the work is done, you can leave it on autopilot with sales, product delivery and payment all taken care of automatically online.

In all honesty, I learnt far more with my other two products. The second product was a good product but having taken 6 months to put together, it came to the market too late. Here I learnt the importance of getting a product to market quickly, even if it is not 100% perfect. You can easily improve it and update the version once it is out there selling and making you money.

The third product was one that my wife had already written previously that I tried to turn into a product without sufficient research as to the market that existed for the product. Big mistake. Make sure the market exists via keyword research tools like the free version of word tracker and good old Google itself

I was lucky that my first product was the successful one that proved to me that I could make it work. It would have been easy to give up and get despondent had it happened the other way round. One of the lessons I learnt here is that perseverance is just as important online as it is offline.

Whilst ecommerce is a strategy that can be quite involved, if you have a passion and enjoy meeting and helping people online then this is a fantastic way to make money online fast and brings people further into your marketing funnel – ready for the higher paying subscription strategies that we will talk about in the final part of this series.
